Assumption Life and the Drop Zone Create Some Extreme Thrills

Mr. Losier and Brandon.

Cold sweats. Pounding heart. Butterflies in your stomach. Another minute or so and you go over the edge... Twenty or so brave individuals recently raised nearly $1,500 a piece for the chance to rappel down Assumption Place, the tallest building in New Brunswick! These heroes for a day were taking part in the Drop Zone event held on Tuesday, August 29, organized by Easter Seals New Brunswick.

"This is a most worthy cause that is helping to ensure a better today and tomorrow for children with special needs!" stated Denis Losier, President and CEO of Assumption Life, in expressing his unreserved support of the campaign. "The event organizers can count on volunteer assistance from the staff of Assumption Life and on the use of our building as a result." Although Mr. Losier did not don his rappelling gear this year, he descended the building twice last year to make up for it! He raised more than $ 3,000 for this exceptional event.

Funds raised during the annual campaign go toward improving services provided by Easter Seals New Brunswick (CRCD) to children with handicaps all over the province. The organization's objectives include assisting children who have physical handicaps with mobility and communication, defending their rights and raising public awareness concerning the challenges these young people face with such courage.

Founded in 1903, Assumption Life offers a full range of products, including life and critical illness insurance, group insurance, travel insurance as well as financial services and mortgage loan. The company conducts business throughout all ten Canadian provinces. The company's head office is in Moncton, New Brunswick.
