Come Discover the Unique “Difference” of Charlaine Gauthier
Monday, January 5, 2009

Assumption Life's Assumption Gallery is currently exhibiting 12 pieces from Moncton-based artist Charlaine Gauthier under the theme "Différence." These oils on papier mâché, in a range of interesting textures and vibrant colours, will be on display from January 5 to February 28, 2009.

The "Différence" Collection

This latest collection from Ms. Gauthier is a joyous celebration of the concept of difference. "‘Différence" is a series that explores the differences among objects and people, however small," explained the artist. "In a society where difference is often measured against specific criteria – like size, monetary value, weight or beauty – people can be reluctant to draw attention to their differences. But these differences, however small, are evident even between twins and triplets. People who look alike at first glance are still different from each other in significant ways. Everyone is unique. And it's not uncommon for twins to deliberately emphasize these differences."

Come experience this celebration of difference

Charlaine Gauthier has participated in numerous solo and group exhibits and art competitions. You are invited to come explore her latest collection and experience her unique vision of the concept of difference.

The Assumption Gallery is located at 770 Main Street, on the ground floor of the Assumption Place building. Opening hours are from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
